Firearms

Firearms come in three categories, each requiring proficiency to use without penalty; Handguns, Longarms, and Heavy.

The following classes gain proficiency with Handguns: Barbarian, Bard, Cleric, Fighter, Paladin, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcerer, Warlock, Wizard.

The following classes gain proficiency with Longarms: Bard, Fighter, Paladin, Ranger, Rogue.

The following classes gain proficiency with Heavy: Fighter.

Common handguns:
Revolver – damage: 2d4 piercing – cost: 50gp – weight: 3lb – properties: Ammunition (range 40/120), reload (6 shots)

Common longarms:
Hunting rifle – damage: 2d6 piercing – cost: 100gp – weight: 8lb – properties: Ammunition (range 80/240), reload (5 shots), two-handed
Shotgun - damage: 2d8 piercing - cost: 125gp – weight: 7 lb. – properties: Ammunition (range 30/90), reload (2 shots), two-handed
